Liquid Propane Grills

Liquid propane grills run on portable LP tanks, making them the go-to choice for outdoor kitchens without a natural gas line. LP is the more flexible fuel option — you can set up your grill anywhere in the yard without running a gas line from the house, and a standard 20-pound propane tank delivers roughly 18 to 20 hours of cooking time depending on BTU output and how many burners you're running.

Every propane grill we carry is also available in a natural gas version, so you're choosing a fuel type — not a different grill. The cooking performance, features, and construction are identical. The only difference is the gas orifice sizing and the connection type. LP models use a standard propane hose and regulator, while natural gas models connect to your home's gas supply via a 3/8 or 1/2-inch gas line.

When to Choose Propane Over Natural Gas

Choose propane if your home doesn't have natural gas service, if your outdoor kitchen is far from the house (running a gas line gets expensive over long distances), or if you want the flexibility to reposition your setup in the future. Tank storage is simple — most outdoor kitchen islands include a propane tank pullout drawer or a vented cabinet designed to house a standard 20-pound tank. For high-BTU grills and large outdoor kitchens with multiple gas appliances, consider installing a larger tank (40 or 100 pounds) to avoid mid-cook swaps.
