Outdoor Vent Hoods & Range Hoods

If your outdoor kitchen is under a roof, pergola, or covered patio, a vent hood isn't optional — it's essential. Grilling produces smoke, grease-laden vapor, and heat that need somewhere to go. Without proper ventilation, that smoke stains your ceiling, coats nearby surfaces with grease, and makes the cooking area uncomfortable for everyone standing nearby. An outdoor vent hood pulls all of that up and out, keeping your covered space clean and breathable.

We carry outdoor-rated vent hoods from Summerset and TrueFlame in sizes that match standard grill widths. Each hood is built from #304 stainless steel, equipped with stainless steel baffle filters that capture grease before it enters the ductwork, and powered by blowers rated for outdoor grilling applications. LED lighting built into the hood illuminates your cooking surface for evening grilling sessions.

Sizing Your Vent Hood

The general rule is that your vent hood should be at least as wide as your grill — and ideally 6 inches wider on each side for maximum smoke capture. A 36-inch grill pairs with a 42-inch or 48-inch hood. A 40-inch grill should use a 48-inch or larger hood. Height above the cooking surface matters too: most manufacturers recommend mounting the hood 30–36 inches above the grill grates. Too high and it won't capture smoke effectively; too low and it interferes with your cooking.
